A friend said “I don’t know” to me recently with such a sense of conviction it made my heart sink. Why do we do this to ourselves? It’s like we’ve been taught to live in a constant state of questioning.
The more time we spend thinking, “I don’t know,” the less apt we are to find the answers that are already within us. And they are always there.
I know, I know, I know.
Maybe she wasn’t ready to know, or maybe she thought I wouldn’t like her answer. Maybe she had already dismissed her answer as not okay and shoved it into a closet somewhere.
I know, I know, I know.
Whatever the reason, I’m sure when she’s ready she’ll know her answer. And that will probably be when she stops pushing so hard against it.
I know, I know, I know.
